Come, Volunteer to undo some Damages

Uttan Bhatia beach, one of the most beautiful beaches around Mumbai is turning into a plastic dumping yard. The spillage from the recent ocean accidents mixed with our own plastic dumping in the sea is turning out into a deadly recipe for environment devastation. Although this is an annual problem due to the ocean current, this year it might just turn into an environmental catastrophe, if not addressed quickly.

Plastic waste - Bhatia Beach, Uttan
Agreed that the oil spillage is a grave issue but the dumping of plastic waste and garbage into the sea is taken for granted by the civic body. We fail to understand that whatever goes into the seas is dumped back to the shore by nature. The Civic body is currently turning a blind eye to this environmental situation.

 So what can be done?

We do feel that 200 volunteers and 2 hours can make a BIG difference. This is the time to get a patriot out of you. Come join.

Approximate Plan: Gather at Bhatia beach on 15th August 2011 and clean the beach.
